Albert Lemons Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 24, 2025.
Albert E. Lemons, aged 93, of Canton, Ohio, peacefully departed this life on January 20, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family. Born on December 20, 1931, in Canton, he was the son of the late Ervin and Frances Lemons. A proud 1949 graduate of Lincoln High School, Albert discovered his love for music as an enthusiastic member of the school band.
He continued his education at Kent State University and honorably served in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean War aboard the USS Coral Sea, where he also had the unique role of being the personal driver for the ship's captain. Albert enjoyed a long and rewarding career at the Timken Company before retiring as a Plant Manager from Qualex in North Canton.
Beyond his professional achievements, Albert was a man rich in interests and talents. He was an enthusiastic golfer and a dedicated member of the Polish American Citizen Club (PACC) in Canton. His musical gifts were evident as he played the saxophone, bringing joy to nursing homes and local events, as well as performing with various ensembles like the Clinton Band, Canal Fulton Band, Stark County Fair Band, Lincoln Alumni Band, and marching in the Hall of Fame Parade. Albert also dedicated over 40 years to volunteering with AARP, assisting many individuals with their tax preparations.
Albert was deeply passionate about his role as a proud veteran, continually dedicating himself to honoring and assisting both past and present service members. His commitment to supporting fellow veterans was evident in his actions and the respect he held for those who served alongside him. He believed in the importance of recognizing their sacrifices and worked tirelessly to ensure that their contributions were never forgotten.
His commitment to his faith was reflected in his role as a member of the Saint Joan of Arc Choir for more than 25 years, as well as serving as a Eucharistic Minister and altar server.
Albert was preceded in death by his cherished son, Keith Lemons, along with his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Frances Lemons; his children, Lori (Joe) Scholtz, Cheri Nauer, and Douglas (Kari) Lemons. He leaves behind a beloved family, including grandchildren Monica McGuire, Abbey (Josh) Priest, Megan (Jim) Bell, Valerie (fiancé, Jordan) Nauer, Morgan (Pete) Dent, and Hannah Lemons, along with great-grandchildren Aubrey and Claire McGuire, Jenna Bell, and Oakley, Sonny, and Dolly Priest.
Albert was a treasured husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. Known for his kindness and gentle spirit, he was a beacon of love and compassion. May his memory inspire us to embody the same qualities he exemplified in life. God bless you, dear Albert, as you are welcomed into Heaven with open arms.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Calvary Cemetery, 3469 Lincoln Way E, Massillon, OH 44646. Sending my deepest condolences, love, hugs, and prayers to my precious friend Lori, Posie and the rest of the Lemon family. Albert had a smile that could light up any room and the gentlest soul. His love for his family and everyone else was evident in any interaction you would have with him. People often say their greatest accomplishment of life will be the children that they raise. In the years I have known Lori I can say that Albert, you have succeeded in raising one of the most kind, beautiful, loving, and giving human beings I have ever met. That is a true testament to your life. They say we have two death dates the day that our body actually leaves this earth and the day that people stop speaking our name. In the sense, I'm sure you will live forever.
