Albert Lyons Obituary
The children of the late Mr. Albert Lyons and Mrs. Dorothy Lyons would like to invite you to an afternoon tea in honour of their parents' passing. We were unable to say goodbye to them jointly with the community because of the pandemic and would like to take that opportunity now. The tea will be held at Hazel Bluff Community Hall from 2:00 – 4:00 pm on July 15, 2023. Please join us and share your memories, everyone is welcome.
LYONS, Albert Charles
On March 31, 2020, Charles Albert Lyons, a longtime member of the Westlock community, finished his 91-year earthly race, crossed the finish line, and is now present with the Lord. Albert, our Dad, was a man of faith who lived well and finished well. He never had a blog or wrote a book, yet his life was a living epistle of love for his wife Dorothy, of 71 years; his children, their children and grandchildren; as well as his extended family (and those who feel like part of his family, well you know who you are). Dad had a quiet sense of humor, and he loved to travel. On their 70th Wedding anniversary he brought those two characteristics together and asked Mom if she would like to take a trip to Australia to celebrate. The family just smiled.
Dad was predeceased by his parents, Albert (Bert) and Christina Lyons, his brother Mac, his sister Margaret, and his granddaughter Allison. He will be dearly missed by his wife Dorothy (Letts), and their children; Judy (George) Bennett, Virginia (John) Friesen, Margaret Anne (Jay) Gurnett, Harold (Sharon) Lyons, Norma (Gary) Calderwood; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister Beth (Park) Letts; sister-in-law Jean Cameron; as well as in-laws Jim & Caroline Letts and Alex & Peggy Letts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nehemiah Construction (which drills water wells in Kenya, Africa) Box 23029, Medicine Hat, AB T1B 4C7 or at nehemiahconstruction.ca; OR Hazel Bluff Community Ag Society, Box 5402, Westlock, AB T7P 2P5 (for the Hazel Bluff Community Centre); OR a charity of your choice.
The pandemic has made it necessary to postpone any kind of memorial service at this time.

i always wanted to reach out to them at one point or another. They usually sent me letters and sponsored my junior school in Ghana, through international needs. i will one day visit their grave and lay flowers.
