Alberto Manchego passed away at his home in Fowler at the age of 103 years 7 months, and 12 days. He was born to Martha (Naranjo) and Enrique Manchego on the 2 nd of October in Ocate, New Mexico, with an identical twin brother Bonifacio. Alberto came to Fowler in 1952 with employment at the Pueblo Army Depot, retiring with 27 years of service. The family lived at the Enderud Farm west of Fowler for 30 years, later moving to Park Avenue in 1979. You would see Albert sitting on his porch or taking his daily walks. He enjoyed seeing all the young children passing by and saying Hi grandpa Chego He loved spending time with his children, 27 grandchildren, 53 great-grand, 16 great-great-grand, and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren, 105 too many to mention, but he remembered them all, with a little hint. He lived a wonderful life, seeing all the new gadgets coming through the decades, as a centenarian he enjoyed reading, taking daily walks, and visiting with friends.
Alberto was preceded in death by his wife, parents, son Albert Jr., daughter Charlotte Masias, and son in laws Rudolph Masias, and Floyd Aragon Sr., grandsons, Floyd Jr. and Walter Aragon, great-grandsons Charlie Aragon, Dominque Tomlin, and granddaughter Danette (Kesterson) Gonzales Mendoza.
