Albert Kay Marchant

December 25, 1940 ~ July 17, 2021

Albert Kay Marchant, passed away, Saturday, July 17, 2021, at home. Kay was born on December 25, 1940, in Roosevelt, Utah, the son of Albert G and Dorothy Maude Marchant. He attended school in Roosevelt until moving to Ogden, Utah in 1959 and graduated from Ben Lomond High School. After graduation, he served an LDS Mission in Southern California/Arizona area.

Kay married Janeal Green for time and all eternity, on August 4, 1971, in the Idaho Falls Temple and settled in Riverdale, Utah. Together, Kay and Janeal raised four children. Kay was always very proud of them, as well as his grandchildren. They spent 37 years together before she passed away. Kay then married Merle Wolthuis on June 20, 2009. They were married for four years until she passed away.

Kay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was his pleasure to serve in many church callings. He always found time to serve others by helping neighbors, family, friends, along with people he had just met. He was always a hard worker and took pride and joy in maintaining a beautiful yard. He was a truck driver and retired from J.M. Thomas Forest Products in 2011, after 20 years of service.

Kay is survived by his children, Brady Marchant, Riverdale, UT; Lara (Hal) Hadfield, Brigham City, UT; Tami (Andrew) Gibby, Clearfield, UT; Terri Bendixsen, Layton, UT; brothers, Ralph (Sheri); Lynn; sisters, Donna Kenley, Linda Blair, Carol Morrice, and Joyce Howell; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janeal; and second wife, Merle; brothers, Mark, Richard, Bill, Mathew, John and sister, Dorothy Simpson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 2nd Ward, 4855 South 300 West. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. the church. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
