WORCESTER-Albert J. Moquin, Sr., 89, passed away Tuesday, March 18 in Oasis at Dodge Park.
His wife of 30 years, Louise R. (Horton) Moquin died in 2018. He leaves two children, Albert J. Moquin, Jr. of Worcester and Deborah Cutroni of North Brookfield; two step-children, Mark Halpin and his longtime companion, Michelle Ustinovich of Worcester and Bridgit Hine and her husband, Thomas Pechinis of Holden; two brothers, Walter Moquin of Millbury and Paul Moquin of Worcester; his former wife, Marion E. Baynard of Worcester; six grandchildren, Chad, Jeremy, Daniel, Emily, Evan and Keegan; 11 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Three siblings, Patricia O’Neill, William Moquin and Robert “Joker” Moquin predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Armand N. and Clara (Bergstrom) Moquin and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He served in U.S. Army from 1957-1963.
Al worked for 42 years in the shipping department at Sears, he simultaneously worked for 30 years in the electrical department at Spags. He had a great love of golf, stemming from his years as a caddy in his youth. He also enjoyed watching golf, hockey and trips to the casino. He loved family vacations and spending time with his grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Oasis and Brookhaven Hospice for their loving and compassionate care during Al’s time there.
Visiting Hours are Sunday, March 23 from 2 to 4pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 24 at 11am in St. Bernard’s Church at 228 Lincoln St. Burial with Military Honors will take place at 2pm in Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery, Winchendon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Veterans’ Inc. in Worcester at www.veteransinc.org
