Funeral services for Albert Reed, 68, of Nacogdoches, will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the International Church of Nacogdoches with Pastor Dennis Land officiating. Interment will follow at Alazan Cemetery in Nacogdoches.

Mr. Reed was born on June 13, 1957, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to the late Albert Jefferson Reed, Sr. and Jodie Lucille (Byrd) Baumiester, and died Saturday, August 9, 2025, in Nacogdoches.

Mr. Reed was a member of the International Church of Nacogdoches and served in the United States Army. He loved his family very much, especially his wife Charlene. Mr. Reed's children and grandchildren were his world. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and anything that he could build with his hands.

Mr. Reed is survived by his wife of 46 years, Charlene Reed of Nacogdoches; son and daughter-in-law, Albert Jay Reed, Jr. and Andrea Reed of Nacogdoches; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Lyon Brown of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Marissa Perez of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Taylor Reed of Tyler; granddaughter, Kelsey Reed of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Whitley Reed of Nacogdoches; grandson, Ashton Brown of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Shyane Brown of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Lani Brown of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Alexis Brown of Nacogdoches; great-grandson, Alister Perez of Nacogdoches; great-grandson, Julius Stevenson of Nacogdoches; sister, Brenda Keeton of Shertz; brother, Maurice Byrd of Longview; brother, Albert Jefferson Reed, Jr. of Florida; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby Dale Givens; and sister, Hazel Givens.

Pallbearers will be Albert Jay Reed, Jr., Taylor Reed, Justin Rangel, Lyon Brown, Andrew Humphrey, and Kevin Vargas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ashton Brown, Jaden Craft, Braiden Humphrey, and Caleb Humphrey.

Special memorials may be made to International Church of Nacogdoches (Glory Gang Children's Ministry) 1610 Southwest Stallings Drive Nacogdoches, TX 75964.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
