Albert K. "Kenny" Reed Jr., age 84, of East Galesburg, Illinois died with Family at his side on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Allure of Lake Storey in Galesburg, Illinois.

He was born on November 29, 1941 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Albert Kenneth and Marjory M. (Stotts) Reed, Sr. He attended Galesburg Schools. He married Joyce Brown on August 20, 1983 in East Galesburg, Illinois. She preceded him in death on December 8, 2021.

Surviving are his children: Randy (Michele Clemens) Reed of Roscoe, Illinois, Paulette (Chris) Welty of Port Allen, Louisiana, Roger (Janice) Reed of East Galesburg, Illinois, daughter-in-law, Lisa ( and the late Rick) Reed of Knoxville, Illinois, Step-son, Jimmy Brown of Abingdon, Illinois; nineteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren; sisters, Darlene (Marvin) Lanholm of Galesburg, Illinois, Diane (Jim) Perry of Sheridan, Wyoming and Judy (Dave) McClay of Galesburg, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Rick and stepson, Bobby Miner.

He worked for the former Maytag in Galesburg, Illinois, retiring after thirty-one years, then he mowed lawns and worked as a crossing guard. He enjoyed riding the motorcycle and dancing with his wife. He also enjoyed woodworking, mushroom hunting, and playing in a pool league. He loved his family, his dog, talking and visiting with other people, he never met a stranger.

A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital or the American Heart Association. On-line condolences or expressions of sympathy may be made through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhomes.com
