Albert William Riemenschneider (80) passed away on May 13th after a long illness. He was born in Philadelphia on November 3, 1944. He grew up in Ridley Park PA and moved to Newark Delaware in 1970 where he raised his family. After retirement he moved to Millsboro Delaware to be near the water.
He served in the reserves after joining the army at the age of 17 right after graduation from Ridley Park high school.
Bill was a machinist by trade. He was Bill to his family and friends and Al to his co workers at DuPont Wilmington Shops and later at WL Gore where he worked until retirement.
Bill loved to fish and crab on his boat out in the Rehoboth Bay and Indian River Bay. His lifelong love of cars was evident as he worked on all of our vehicles and his 73 Dodge Dart Sport. He enjoyed going to car shows and has won several trophies along the way. He was our fix it guy, our plumber, electrician, carpenter, and auto mechanic. He was happy to help out friends and neighbors figuring out their car issues and helping them with repairs.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of almost 60 years Jackie, his son Bill, daughter Stacey, grandson Mark (Keri) and his sisters Melissa Parker, Joani Niemeyer and brother, Glenn Parker.
