Albert Lloyd Sands, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, in Nuevo, California. Born on November 4, 1945, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Albert's journey through life was marked by his unwavering strength, passion, and dedication to his loved ones and his country.
After bravely serving in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, Albert dedicated over six decades to the automotive industry. His expertise and entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate a successful radiator repair shop, where his strong-willed, assertive, and candid nature made him a respected figure in his field.
Albert's love for life was paralleled only by his love for racing. He spent many years behind the wheel, racing legend cars and stock cars, where his competitive spirit shone brightly. When not racing, Albert could be found with a fishing rod in hand, enjoying the serenity of the water, or embracing his cowboy spirit on the ranch. His old-school values and assertive presence made him a memorable character in any setting.
Family was the cornerstone of Albert's life. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 45 years, Margo, and a loving father to his children, Yvette Itzaina and Meltem Clark. His role as a grandfather to four grandchildren and a great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy. His grandchildren, in particular, were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment he spent with them. Though one great-grandchild preceded him in death, the love and lessons he imparted remain a guiding force.
Albert is survived by his beloved wife Margo; his daughters Yvette Itzaina and Meltem Clark; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister Patsy; his brother Danny; and additional extended family members. Each family member will carry forward Albert's legacy of love, strength, and integrity.
Albert's life was a testament to the impact one person can have on the lives of many. He was always in charge, often right, and full of life. His memory will be honored not just in words, but in the way his loved ones continue to live their lives-embracing each day with courage, honesty, and a zest for life that was unmistakably Albert.
As the sun sets on Albert's earthly journey, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. We bid farewell to a man who was not only the patriarch of our family but also a beacon of resilience and love. Albert Lloyd Sands will be deeply missed, but his legacy will endure forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
