Albert James Shreck

Albert James Shreck, 86, of Waverly, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Traditions of Bristol Village. He was born on February 10, 1937 in Beaver in to the late Roy Isaac Shreck and Velva Elizabeth Jones Shreck. On April 25, 1958, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Jean Salyers Shreck who preceded in death on February 19, 2015. Surviving are his children, Michael (Denise) Jeffrey Shreck of Beaver, Tammy (Todd) Jeannie Sark of Waverly, and Sheri Jo (Jim) Weekley of Piketon; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, six sisters, Rosie Frick of Hemphill, Texas, Lillie Heffner, Clayton and Julie Gillenwater, Ronald and Donna Dyke, Bonnie Mullins all of Waverly, and John and Mona Akers of Piketon; and three brothers, Elzie and Shirley Shreck of Chillicothe, Ernest Shreck and Jimmy and Clarice Shreck of Waverly. In addition to his parents and wife, Albert was preceded in death by three infant children, a sister, Mary Laney and two brothers, Tommie Shreck and David Carter.
Albert was a member of Givens Freewill Baptist Church and worked for Pike Sanitation and Wagner Electric.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Rob Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery on Hay Hollow in Waverly. Family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
