Albert Eugene Socha

Albert Eugene Socha, 82, of El Campo, Texas passed away on July 26, 2025. Born on March 11, 1943, in Taiton, Texas to Alice Agnes Juranek Socha and Edmund A. Socha. He was raised in the small community of Hahn, but resided most of his life in El Campo, Texas. He was a member of St. Phillips Catholic Church in El Campo, Texas. Albert took great pride in his work as a carpenter for over 60 years-a skilled craftsman whose hands could create just about anything. His barn, a treasure trove of wood, tools, and machinery, was his sanctuary. He could often be found walking barefoot through it, perfectly at ease among the sawdust. Albert found happiness in life's simple pleasures, whether it was tending to his expansive garden or caring for his flock of chickens, guineas, turkeys, and ducks. His yard was a reflection of his character-meticulously maintained and cared for with the same dedication he applied to everything he did. Albert shared his life with his beloved wife of 57 years, Barbara Krasucky Socha - the love of his life and companion through it all. He always had a playful admiration for Dolly Parton, but it was Barbara who truly held his heart. He spent many cherished days at his deer camp in Ezzell, Texas, which he and his brother, Harry, built from the ground up. It was more than just land; it was a place where memories were made, sitting around a campfire with family, telling stories, sharing laughter, and often putting loved ones to work. Known for his strong will and even stronger work ethic, Albert was both stubborn and deeply devoted. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of grit, craftsmanship, determination that will never be forgotten. He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Socha, four daughters, Kathy Socha of El Campo; Patsy Baker and husband Bubba of El Campo; Betty Staff and husband Emil of El Campo, and Becky Fredrickson and husband Brett of Needville. He was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, Amber Socha, Shay Fredrickson and fiancé Garrett Boehnemann, Brittany Baker, and Bethany Baker. His greatest joy came from his great-grandchildren: Gage Guillory, Reece Guillory, and Malia Powell. Albert is also survived by his brother, Gene Socha and wife Dianne, his sister, Georgia Sanchez and husband Remedio, and his sister-in-law, Jeanette Socha. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Harry Socha, grandparents, and in-laws. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30 at Triska Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. The funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 31 at St. Philip Catholic Church with the Rev. Dalton Ervin officiating. Burial will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery in Hillje. Pallbearers are Kevin Socha, Bradley Krasucky, GW Krasucky, Garrett Boehnemann, Keene Bennetsen, and Brandon Powell. Honorary pallbearers are Richard (Dick) Korenek, Donnie Mahalitic, Sammie Holloway, Lenice Socha, Dustin Socha, Wayne Socha, Kirk Socha, Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren. Memorial donations in memory of Albert may be made to the El Campo Volunteer Fire Department, El Campo EMS or St. Philip School.
