Albert Lee Stephenson was born on September 21, 1943, in Los Angeles, California, to Albert Parker Stephenson and Lola Lee Stephenson. He passed away peacefully at his home on June 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He was raised in Heber Springs, Arkansas, and later attended the University of Central Arkansas. In 1967, he married the love of his life, Martha Daves. Together, they moved to Searcy, where he dedicated his life to carrying on and growing the family business, Stephenson Oil Company, originally founded by his father. He successfully ran the company for over 50 years, leaving behind a legacy that continues to support his family across generations.
A man of deep faith and strong community spirit, he was a lifelong devoted member of the Methodist Church. He was passionate about serving others and gave generously of his time and leadership through various roles. He served on the Searcy School Board, the White County Fair Board, and was active in the Arkansas Oil Marketers Association, among many other civic organizations. He also proudly served in the Arkansas National Guard, retiring as a Warrant Officer 4 (W4).
After his retirement, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life-spending time outdoors, tackling new projects, and tending to his yard, always with the same dedication and quiet determination he brought to everything he did.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha Stephenson; his son, Terry Stephenson (Julie); his daughter, Lee Childers (Cliff); five grandchildren: Parker Stephenson, Austin Childers (Ashlee), Catherine Woodruff (Camdon), Grant Childers (Kortney), and Emily O'Brien (William); and four great-grandchildren, and a sister Lynn Allbright (Bill)..
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Renew Church.
He will be deeply missed, remembered for his strength, his service, and the legacy of love and hard work he leaves behind.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm - 6:00pm on Thursday, June 12, 2025 and a Celebration of Life will begin at 6:00pm in the Renew Church with Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family would like for you to make a donation to Alcoholics Anonymous through Renew Church.
