Albert Toth, Jr., 90, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on November 22, 2025. Al was born on December 31, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Albert Toth and Blanche Croddy Toth. He was raised on a farm near Morristown, Indiana and later graduated from New Palestine High School, where he was an honor student and a member of the basketball and track teams. He attended Purdue University, where he received a B.S. in Civil Engineering and his military Commission as Ensign U.S.N.R. He served as a First Lieutenant for Service Schools Command, Naval Training Center in San Diego, California.
Upon leaving the service, Al, a Professional Engineer registered in California, joined Bechtel Corp., the world’s largest Design and Construction Company headquartered in San Francisco, California. Al returned to Indiana in 1976, where he soon married Carolyn White Griffin. With Richard Ervin, they started the Construction Project Management firm of Toth-Ervin Inc. that was involved with many of the expansions of the Children’s Museum, the Hulman addition of the Indianapolis Museum of Art (now renamed as Newfields), Canterbury Hotel, office buildings at Keystone at the Crossing, and over one hundred schools throughout the state of Indiana. Al retired in 1997.
Al is survived by his wife, Carolyn; sons, Christopher (Rebecca) Toth, Kier (Debra) Toth; stepson, Brandon (Amy) Griffin; stepdaughters, Amanda (Michael) Geer, Jennifer (Mike) Keller; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Bill (Dianne) Hollars, sisters Diana Martin, and Betty Philips.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, and his son Kevin Bradley Toth in 2017.
Al’s legacy of love, integrity, and generosity will endure through the many lives he touched. He will be missed by all.
