Beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, nephew;

Albert A. "Al" Turcotte, 95, of Dracut, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on Monday September 1, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was the devoted husband for 62 years of the late Margaret M. (Melanson) Turcotte who died in 2014.

Born in Lowell, MA, October 29, 1929, the son of the late Leo and the late Alice (Bussiere) Turcotte, he received his education in the Dracut school system.

A veteran of the Korean War, Al proudly served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a painter for the Facilities Department at UMass Lowell for ten years. Previously, he was a firefighter for over 23 years at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA.

Among his many interests, Al enjoyed bowling, traveling, visiting relatives in Florida, playing cribbage, cornhole, and working on puzzles.

However, his greatest joy was spending time with and supporting his family, including caring for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A talented handyman, Al used his skills for building and DIY projects.

He is survived by two sons David A. Turcotte and his wife Margarita Zapata-Turcotte of Lowell and Dean W. Turcotte and his wife Vickie A. of Dracut; five grandchildren Leonor Daley and her husband Patrick of Concord, Jared Turcotte of Lowell, Darlene Axelrod and her husband Ari of Danvers, Danielle Moore and her husband Dylan of Dracut, MA and Renee Turcotte and her husband Noah of Manchester, NH; five great grandchildren Cameron, Declan, Griffin, Anya and Ezra; his aunt Dora (Turcotte) Renaud of Dracut; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the father of the late Daniel R. Turcotte, and brother of the late Raymond and Andrew Turcotte, the late Theresa Brissette and Georgette Bellemare.

Friends may call on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL from 2 to 5 P.M. His Funeral will take place on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Ste. Marguerite d'Youville Church in Dracut at 10 o'clock followed by his Committal Services at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Lowell. E-condolences/directions at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to High Pointe House at Tufts Medicine Care at Home.
