Albert Bland Turner

A Memorial Service for Albert Bland Turner, Sr, age 84, will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Mt of Olives Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the gravesite following the service. Bland Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Mr. Turner, a native of Johnston, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, February 2, 2014 at Hospice House in Greenwood, SC. He was a son of the late W.W. Sr. and Elberta Bland Turner. Albert retired from the US Postal Service, was a former member of Kadosh Masonic Lodge 181, served in the SC National Guard for 20 years, and was a member of Johnston First Baptist Church where he formerly served on the Deacon Board. Survivors include his wife: Nancy Corley Turner; sons: Al Turner, Jr. (Melissa) and Mark Turner; daughter: Marion Turner, all of Johnston; and grandchildren: Wes, Shelby, Grace and Ethan Turner; nephew: W. W. Turner, III (Bill) and niece: Toni T. Hauver, Concord, NC. He was predeceased by a brother: W. W. Turner, Jr. (Billy).
