Albert Vautour, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He was 72 years old.

Born on September 12, 1952, in Gardner, MA, to Gerard and Rose (Aucoin) Vautour, Albert was one of eight siblings and a proud member of the Holy Rosary community. His upbringing in Gardner, surrounded by his six sisters and one brother, laid the foundation for a life centered on family, service, and faith.

Albert graduated high school as a Lancer from La Salette Missionary Boarding School in Enfield, NH, in 1971. It was there he formed lifelong friendships and created memories that stayed with him through the years. He went on to attend Fitchburg State College, where he made history as the first student to earn a degree in Computer Science. It was also at Fitchburg where he met the love of his life, Mary Doyle. They married, built a life filled with love and laughter, and raised three children together.

Albert had a long and meaningful relationship with the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout, troop leader, and tireless volunteer. His service was recognized with the prestigious Silver Beaver Award, a national honor given to adult leaders who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service and leadership. He also served on the organization's National Diversity Committee, helping shape a more inclusive future for Scouting.

Since 1985, Albert and Mary made their home in Hopedale, MA, where they raised their children and were active in the community. Albert spent years coaching youth sports and leading Scout troops, always with patience, and a strong sense of purpose. In his later years, he took great pride and joy in being "Pepere" to his eight grandchildren; Liam, Brennan, Kariana, and Chiara of Millis, MA; Jack and Matthew of Lowell, MA; and Maggie and Declan of Milford, MA. Watching their games, celebrating their milestones, and talking about them to anyone who would listen brought him endless joy.

After retiring from a career in information technology, Albert spent the last 18 years as the Meals on Wheels coordinator for Upton and Hopedale, delivering meals and kindness to local seniors. He never considered it just a job; it was another way to serve his community, something he did with great humility.

Albert is survived by his beloved wife of almost 47 years, Mary Doyle-Vautour of Hopedale, MA; his children, Albert Vautour II and his wife Danielle (Tolland) Vautour of Millis, MA; Timothy Vautour and his wife Kimberly (Boudreau) Vautour of Lowell, MA; and Jacqueline (Vautour) Corrigan and her husband Christopher Corrigan of Milford, MA; his siblings, Marie Vautour of Falmouth, MA; Helene Vautour of Gardner, MA; Therese Vautour of Gardner, MA; Geraldine Vautour of St. Paul, MN; Christine (Vautour) Burke and her husband Michael Burke of Worcester, MA. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, who were truly the light of his life and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by one sister, Francine (Vautour) Pera and one brother, Maurice Vautour.

Albert will be remembered for his steady presence, quiet generosity, and deep devotion to the people he loved. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched as a father, a friend, a leader, and a man who made time for what really matters.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held ,Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 10:00-11:30 am at the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress Street, Milford, to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 187 Hopedale Street, Hopedale.

Burial will be private.
