It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Albert Burton Willis Sr., who departed this world on May 29, 2025. Born on January 5, 1926, in Mahwah, NJ, Albert was a man of ambition, creativity, resilience, and love. His life's journey took him from New Jersey to New York, where he made his home in Fishkill, after living in Newburgh and Monsey. Albert was a loving husband to Jean Willis, whom he married on March 6, 1948, and a devoted father to Diane Oldham, his daughter, and son-in-law Jay Oldham Sr.
Albert was a hardworking man who demonstrated remarkable resilience throughout his life. He worked tirelessly as a gas supervisor for Orange & Rockland Utilities in Spring Valley, NY, before retiring in 1984. Albert was a creative soul who found joy in the simple things. He had a particular fondness for feeding and watching the birds, tinkering around the house, and playing golf. His love for animals knew no bounds, especially when it came to dogs. Albert was a loving grandfather to five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.
His family was what mattered most to him. Albert is survived by his wife Jean Willis, his daughter Diane Oldham, son-in-law Jay Sr, sister Mildred Henshaw, brother Bernard Willis, and sister-in-law Martha Willis. He was preceded in death by his son Albert Jr, his parents Bernard Willis Sr and Blanche Willis, and siblings Arlene Chase, Janet Towle, Margaret Waterson, Evelyn Maxwell, Marjorie Goodell, and Wayne Willis.
Albert's life was etched with the love he shared and the care he showed towards everyone he met. His life story is a testament to his strength, his ambition, and his deep love for his family. His memory will forever be treasured by all who knew him.
We invite you to share your memories of Albert and upload photos to his memorial page. Your tributes will serve as a comfort to his family and a testament to his enduring legacy.
