Albert Wilson, age 89, of Middlesboro, KY, went to his heavenly home on Friday, May 23, 2025. He was born in Frakes, KY, on January 16, 1936, to the late Reverend Foster and Bertha Partin Wilson.

Albert was a loving brother, father, grandfather, and uncle. He was a devoted member of New Vine Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time in his garden each year and was well known for sharing his harvest with many friends and family. More than anything, Albert enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Most of his mornings were spent enjoying the company of his buddies over breakfast at Hardee’s. He was a long-time fan of UK basketball and rarely missed watching a game. Albert also enjoyed watching the local high school basketball teams and watching westerns on TV.

In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his special friend Dorothy Gambrel; as well as his brothers, Fayette (Elsie) Wilson, Leland Wilson and Roland Wilson; his sisters, Edna (Ancil) Sparks, Lilly (Wayland) Lowe, Ethel (Walter) Lambdin, Mary (Jay) Davis and Pauline (Bill) Campbell; and special nephew, Charles Sparks.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Beverly (Mitchell) Wylie of Shelbyville KY, Greg (Samantha) Wilson of Pineville KY, Chris (Jenny) Wilson of Frakes KY, Terry (LeeAda) Wilson of Pineville KY, Ricky Wilson of Cumberland KY and Teresa (Kenneth) Whiteaker of Monroe MI. Also left to mourn his passing are his grandchildren, Spencer VanFleet, Chasity Wilson, Kaytee (Larry) Moore, Taylor (Aaron) Harris, Ryan (Brittani) Wilson, Hunter Wilson, Shelby (Dalton) Wilson, Bailey Wilson, Jonathan Whiteaker, Jennifer (Mark) Sheroski and Eric Wilson; his great-grandchildren, Brayden Moore, Emmalese Moore, his best friend James Matthew “Nuggie” Moore, Kelani Wilson, Avery Sheroski, and Amber Wilson; his siblings, Hazel (Steve) Kukulka, Jeane Mills, Dennie (Juanita) Wilson and Jewell (Bill) Long; a loving nephew, Merle (Willie) Sparks; his sisters-in-law, Liza and Jenny Wilson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and good friends.

The family of Albert Wilson will receive friends on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Lee Mahan and Reverend Ken Kishpaugh presiding. Music will be provided by the New Vine Missionary Baptist Church singers.

At the conclusion of the funeral service, family and friends will travel in procession to Wilson Cemetery on Blue Hollow Road, Frakes, KY, where graveside services will be held. Pallbearers will be Spencer VanFleet, Larry Moore, Carl Kishpaugh, Todd Fuson, Adam Hurst and Shawn Hurst.
