Ms. Alberta was born on February 6, 1939, in Madison, FL, to the late Lonnie DeLaughter and Cora Sims Wade. She was educated in the Madison County School District. Alberta worked for many years in housekeeping at Holiday Inn until her retirement. Alberta was a faithful member of the House of God Church, Pastor Wanda Wilson, Senior Pastor. Alberta loved and served God with all of her heart. She loved her pastor, her church family, and spoke well of them often. DeLaughter, Arthur DeLaughter, and George Brown.

Left to cherish her memories are: her sons, Sherman Hall, Stanley Haines, and Charles Haines of Lake Placid; her devoted cousin who was like a daughter, Gloria DeLaughter Jones (Ronald); nieces, Betty Jean DeLaughter, Stephanie Crumity, and Dara Walton; nephews, Dr. Gianni Jackson, Robert Lee DeLaughter, Dexter Massaline, Reggie Major, Fred Massaline, Sam Massaline, and Alvin Massaline; cousins, Roberta and Frank Robinson, Cecil DeLaughter, Lenora D. Clark, Dr. Claudia D. Dozier (Dr. Thomas), Twonda D. Ball, and The Jones Family; and a host of relatives and friends.
