Alberta Fenimore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home - Louisville on Jan. 19, 2026.
Alberta Miller Fenimore, 90, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love and family on January 17th, 2026.

Alberta was born December 31st, 1935, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Delbert and Juanita Miller. On June 6th, 1964, she married the love of her life, Clarke E. Fenimore, at St. Helen's Catholic Church. Together, they shared 61 joyful years of marriage, building a life centered on family, service, and community. Alberta was educated at Saint Anthony Catholic Church, Class of 1949, and was a graduate of Ursuline Academy, Class of 1953.

Alberta built a distinguished career as a legal secretary. After starting a family, she chose to step away from her professional work to focus on raising her three daughters, a role she loved deeply. Later, she returned to the workforce, serving as an executive secretary at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center and as a St. Matthews councilwoman. Alberta was also a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a longtime member of St. Frances of Rome and Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Above all, Alberta treasured her role as a mother. Her most cherished accomplishment was raising her three daughters.

Alberta enjoyed traveling, domestically and abroad. She cheered for the University of Louisville and attended many games and tailgates. She loved to laugh, dance, and spend time with family and friends. Her warmth, energy, and joy for life will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Clarke E. Fenimore; her devoted daughters, Deborah Kay Franklin, and Denise Fenimore Brown; and her sons-in-law, Stephen Boyd Brown, Cary Lewis Clark, Jr., and Steven Edward Franklin; sister-in-law, Nora L. Miller; and brother-in-law, Ira Fred Fenimore (Becky).

She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren: Thomas Leo Janisse (Rachel), Daniel Fenimore Janisse, Joseph Edward Janisse, Sarah Elizabeth Clark, Matthew Fenimore Brown, Cary (Trey) Lewis Clark III, and Anna Grace Brown; and two great-grandchildren: Olivia Lyn and Ace Leo Janisse, all of whom brought her immense joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Juanita Miller; her brother, Fredrick Miller; and her dear daughter, Brenda Fenimore Clark.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Alberta's caregivers – Mickayla, Sharon, Gail, Sandy, Reece and Ranika – whose compassion, comfort, and support during her later stages of life will always be remembered.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 24th, 2026, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Cherrywood Road.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Friday, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. Family burial will be Monday, January 26th, at Evergreen Cemetery.
