Born July 5, 1939, in Summit, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Bertha E. (Bellun) Neuhauser.
Her husband of 58 years, Ronald V. Nigro, passed away March 12, 2019.
Years ago, she worked in the cafeteria at March Elementary School, Easton. Previously, she was employed by Martindale Hubbell Attorneys, Summit, NJ.
Birdie loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are four children, Donna Upright and her husband Mark, of Nashville, NC, Rhonda Mertz and her husband Alan, of Wilson Borough, Ronald A. Nigro, of Easton, and Eleanor Motsavage and her husband William, of Bushkill Township; ten grandchildren, Samantha and Sophia Nigro, Justin and Jordan Upright, Holden Upright and his wife Caitlyn, Joshua and Jason Mertz, Victoria, Veronica and Maxwell Walker; a great-grandson, Julian Mertz and one on the way.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com.
