Rochelle A. Steimer

Rochelle A. Steimer, 91, formerly of Harleysville, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Advanced Health Care of Hanover.
Born September 17, 1934, in Easton, PA, Rochelle was the daughter of the late Stephen Saszi and Rose (Barna) Mansfield. Upon graduation from Stroudsburg High School in 1952, Rochelle enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy for three years during the Korean War. She was stationed in Norfolk, VA, where she met and married the late Roy E. Steimer, Sr. Rochelle enjoyed a successful 20-year career as a case worker for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, where she served the families of Monroe and Northampton Counties. As a retiree, she volunteered at St. Luke's Grandview Hospital in Sellersville, PA, and with the local YMCA.
Rochelle was very musically talented. She played piano, loved to sing, and acted in multiple musicals with the Chansonette Theater in Allentown, PA. In recent years, she sang with the Mastersingers of Paoli, PA, and later with the Wayne Oratorio Society of Wayne, PA alongside her sister, Debra Mansfield. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Hatfield, PA, where she also sang in the choir and played handbells. Rochelle's eye for fashion (she was always beautifully put together as a result of her time at the Jan Nagy Modeling and Finishing School) and her cheerful disposition lit up any room that she was in.
She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister.
Rochelle is survived by her children, Susan Ace and her husband Jim, of Stroudsburg, PA, Roy Steimer, Jr., of East Stroudsburg, PA, Sharon Hoffman and her husband Paul, of Colorado Springs, CO, and Sandra Turner and her husband Cory, of East Stroudsburg, PA; a sister, Debra Mansfield, of Harleysville, PA; a daughter-in-law, Dawn Steimer, of Mohnton, PA; thirteen grandchildren Stephanie, Laura, Jill, Matthew, Adam, Jacob, Nicole, Sara, Steven, Haley, Hannah, Allison, and Ethan; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Ricky and Steven Steimer, a grandson, Cody Bensel and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Steimer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Friday, November 21st in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Palmer Township. Call 9:30-10:30am in the church. Burial with military honors will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine. Arrangements are by the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com.
