Sharon Steimer Obituary
Born on January 13, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Leah Hensel of Gasport. Sharon graduated from Royalton-Hartland High School in 1970 and continued her education at the University of Buffalo and Ithaca College, for her Degree in Occupational Therapy. On August 26, 1972, she married Robert C. Steimer, Jr. and together, they made their home in Churchville, NY. Sharon enjoyed working at various healthcare facilities in Rochester and Brockport as an Occupational Therapist, until her retirement. In addition to basket weaving and crafting, Sharon enjoyed her cats, traveling, camping, and spending winters at the Old Mill Stream in Umatilla, FL, with her husband and brother.
She is survived by her loving brother, James Hensel of N. Chili, her sisters-in-laws, Patricia, (Bill) Eick and Kristine (David) Hydock, nieces and nephews, Todd (Angela) Eick, Tim (Lelainya) Eick, Heather (Jason) Milne, Katie (Bob) Olinger, Andrew (Maragaret) Hydock, and their families and several cousins.
Besides her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her husband, Bob, who passed March 28, 2025.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026, from 10 AM- 12PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM. Burial will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sharon's name to Medina Hospital, c/o North Wing, 200 Ohio St, Medina, NY 14103 or to an animal shelter of one's choice.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to the three angels, MacKenzie, Deb, and Kim of Churchville, and to all the staff at North Wing for their Diligent and compassionate care of Sharon, during the past nine months.
