Alberto Sedillo Sr. of Manzano, New Mexico went to be with our Lord on November 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 3, 1934, to Meliton and Brigida Sedillo.
He is preceded in death by his parents Meliton and Brigida Sedillo, his sister Cruzita (Pedro) Chavez, sister Onesima (Porfirio) Zamora, sister Nicolasita “Nickie” (Juan) Montano, brother Antonio (Emma) Sedillo, brother Ray Sedillo (Margaret) daughter in law Christella Sedillo and nephews Albert Montano and Geraldo Chavez. Solomon & Elvira Lovato – in-laws. Edwardo Lovato, Solomon Jr. (Mayo) Lovato, Juan Lovato, Sam Lovato, David Lovato and Alfred Lovato brother in laws. Joyce Sandoval and Mary Lovato sister in laws.
Alberto is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of 73 years, Gladys Sedillo; his children Albert Jr. Sedillo (Eva), Michael Sedillo, Tom Sedillo, Merlinda Neville (Alan) and Robert Sedillo (Stephanie). During their 73 years of marriage Alberto and Gladys created a family rooted deeply in love.
He held a special place in his heart for each of his 11 grandchildren Lawrence Sedillo (Kristi), Nicole Salazar (Jason), Joey Sedillo, Andrea Sedillo (Daniel), Eddie Neville (Kimberly), Gary Neville (Tamara), Felicia Sedillo, Diego Sedillo (Adrienne), Brandon Neville (Rachel), Alicia Payne (Ryan) and Luke Sedillo. His 11 great grandchildren Miranda, Denette, Larry, Mckenna, Julian, Madilynn, Josiah, Elijah, Isaiah, Hudson and Callie – brought him so much joy and happiness. Sister in Laws Stella Ortiz, Rose Chavez, Elsie Abeyta and Isabela Lovato. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Alberto spent his career working at La Residencia and El Castillo. As the patriarch of his family, he was a multitalented man, and one of the best carpenters anyone could find. Whether building homes, crafting cabinets, or taking on any project that his family needed, he ensured everything was made with love and creativity.
He also loved visiting the “tiendita” always excited to share his new finds with his family. He enjoyed stopping by to visit loved ones, seeing what they were working on and offering a helping hand with any project. Alberto read his Bible daily and carried his faith at the center of his life. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
