KERRY BOYD Obituary

KERRY BOYD
October 19, 1943 - December 3, 2025
Kerry Boyd, 82, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud son of New Mexico, passed away peacefully at his home in Santa Fe on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Born on October 19, 1943, in Artesia, New Mexico, to Thomas and Jessie Ruth Boyd, Kerry was the youngest of three boys and carried his family's legacy of integrity, perseverance, and service throughout his life.
A graduate of the New Mexico Military Institute and a proud alumnus of New Mexico State University, where he earned his B.S. in Agricultural Economics, Kerry approached every endeavor with purpose and quiet determination. His life was defined by curiosity, grit, and a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Kerry was a man who wore many hats-and excelled in all of them. A born entrepreneur and natural leader, he forged a dynamic career as a banker, cattle buyer, realtor, business owner, and pilot. He also served the State of New Mexico in director roles focused on resource management and conservation-work that reflected both his love for the land and his unwavering commitment to the betterment of his community. Deeply engaged in politics and public affairs, Kerry possessed a rare gift: he could hold a thoughtful conversation with anyone about anything, always listening with respect and speaking with conviction.
His faith anchored him, and he was an active and devoted member of the Catholic Church. A passionate reader and lifelong learner, Kerry cherished history, the Constitution, the arts, and the enduring spirit of America. Above all, he was immensely proud to be a New Mexican-a man shaped by its landscapes, strengthened by its culture, and devoted to its people.
Kerry's greatest joy was his family, whom he loved with a steadfast and generous heart. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Rosina; his sons, Kevin and his daughter, Siiri; Kenneth (Andrea) and their children, Jeffery, Christian, and Keeley; and Zack (Kori) Beaver and their children, Caleb, MacKenzie, Logan, and Ethan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and extended family whom he cherished deeply. The entire Jaquez family-his in-laws-held him in the highest regard and were deeply fond of him, embracing him as one of their own.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Jessie Ruth Boyd; his brothers, Tom and Bob Boyd; his daughter, Judi Marie Beaver; and his nephew, Kyle.
Kerry lived a life marked by service, curiosity, faith, and love. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his keen mind, and the kindness he extended to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the family he adored and the state he proudly served.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church in Santa Fe. Rosary at 10:00 a.m., Mass at 10:30 a.m., followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
