Alden Gay Rigdon, age 86, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Alden was born June 24, 1939, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a son of the late Harry and Ruby Elliott Rigdon.
He enjoyed going to auctions, mowing his lawn, farming and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 17 years, Linda Sue Sexton Rigdon; two brothers, Jerry Rigdon, Richard Rigdon and one sister, Barbara Rigdon Cropper.
Alden is survived by one son, Joseph Rigdon of Charleston, West Virginia; one daughter, Gaylene Rigdon (Charles) Dawson of Elberton, Georgia; 6 grandchildren, Christopher Alden Dawson, Amanda Dawson, Alexandria Gay- Marie Dawson Jones, Joseph Dawson, Marcus Dawson, Megan Rigdon Meighan; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ridgon McClurg of Vanceburg, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 11918 KY 57, Tollesboro, Kentucky, with Brother Jerry Blevins officiating. Burial will be follow in Hillcrest Garden of Memories.
Friends may visit after 12:30 p.m., Saturday, October 25, 2025, until the service hour at Tollesboro Funeral Home.
Alden's family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
