Aldine Eugene Hart, Sr., 86, of Moultrie, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2024, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Reverend Thomas Parrish officiating. Mr. Michael Perry and Mrs. Suzanne Sumner will be speaking. Justin Hart, Jed Hart, Hart Sumner, Hayes Sumner, Anthony Brown, Brian Croft, Liles Hall, and Bryan McDonald will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Sardis Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
Born on March 31, 1938, in Colquitt County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Albert Hart and Idella Frazier Hart. Mr. Hart was a dedicated member of Wesley Chapel South Church and was a respected leader in his community. For many years, he served as the manager of the South Georgia Tobacco Growers Warehouse, where his leadership and hard work were deeply valued. Throughout his career, Aldine received numerous accolades, including the Distinguished Agricultural Steward Award in 2018, the Pride in Tobacco Award in both 2014 and 2015, and the prestigious Farm Family of the Year award in 2015. His passion for agriculture and his commitment to improving the industry left a lasting impact on all who worked with him. Aldine was known for his unwavering integrity, his strong work ethic, and his genuine love for his family and community. He took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Massey Hart; and his brother, Leo Hart.
Mr. Hart is survived by his sons, Gene Hart and wife Michele and Scott Hart and wife Shana all of Moultrie; daughter, Suzanne Hart Sumner and husband Kevin of Moultrie; grandchildren, Justin Hart and wife Lindsey of Hahira, Maggie Brown and husband Anthony of Arabi, Jake Hart, Jed Hart both of Moultrie, Hart Sumner and wife Cara of Alapaha, and Hayes Sumner of Moultrie; great-grandchildren, Porter Hart, Myers Hart, Vivian Hart, Barrett Brown, Caroline Brown, and Olivia Sumner; brother, Randall Hart and wife Verlyn of Pavo; and sister, Faye Fussell of Moultrie.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sardis Church Cemetery 797 Gibbs Road, Moultrie, GA 31788. Arrangements entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
