Alejandro Galvan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Resthaven Funeral Home - Sinton on Jan. 13, 2026.
Edroy - Alejandro "Alex" Galvan, Jr., passed away on January 6, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of love, service and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He was 78.

Born on March 30, 1947 in Agua Nueva, Texas, Alex was the beloved son of Alejandro Sr. and Elida (Ramirez) Galvan. He made Edroy his home for more than 40 years and previously lived in Houston. For over two decades, he worked with Kinetic Systems Inc. in California, beginning as a plumber and later advancing into pipe detailing. He also honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era.

Alex was known for his strong work ethic, compassion and dependability. A true perfectionist, he approached every task with care and pride. He had a generous heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand. His creativity shone through his leather crafting, and he enjoyed staying active-whether at the gym, on a walk, or simply keeping himself busy. Above all, Alex will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend whose presence brought warmth to every room.

He is preceded in death by three angel grandbabies; his parents, Alejandro Sr. and Elida Galvan; and his sister, Zora Castro.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kitty Galvan from Edroy, Texas; daughters, Mirabel Johnson (Jeff) from Corpus Christi, Texas and Adabel Galvan (Albert Trevino) from Edroy, Texas; grandchildren, Myranda Kelley (Ross) from Orange Grove, Texas and Hayden Johnson (Christina) from Bluntzer, Texas; great grandchildren, Kinley Johnson, Keegan Kelley, Kailey Johnson and Kamryn Kelley. He is also survived by his brothers, Adan Galvan (Viola) from Chicago; Noel Galvan, Homero Galvan (Elma) and Hector Galvan (Tobie), all from Corpus Christi; Angel Galvan (Olga) from Dickinson, Texas; and Frank Gonzalez (Norma) from Donna, Texas; sisters, Delicia Juarez from Corpus Christi and Emma Navarro (Encarnacion) from Houston, Texas; brother in law, Milton Sangoluisa from California; along with numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will begin Friday, January 30, 2026, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Edroy, Texas. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow, 11:00 AM with the Funeral Mass being celebrated beginning at 11:30 AM. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi.

My love and sincerest condolences to Kitty and her beautiful daughters. Precious memories I have of the Galvan family whenever I would visit my home in Houston. I especially remember when my father passed away suddenly and Kitty and Alex were there, at my brother´s home, day after day helping hold us together. They brought groceries, made food, transported the family, watched the kids, welcomed the guest and kept everything in order.
Alex was so proud of his family. Kitty and Alex were one in everything they did.
May our Heavenly Father wrap all of the Galvan Family in His loving arms and give you His peace and comfort during this difficult time.
Maybe my brother and Alex are fishing or hunting now they are together.
Love, Cheryl (Valdez) Barsanti

Words cannot express the heartache of those who loved Alex. I am so glad that God put Kitty and Alex in our lives in the early 80´s. We were neighbors and just starting our families. We shared many milestones together. We celebrated the births of our children we shared many holidays together, we attended church together, we went to family reunions together in Navasota and in Corpus. We were there for each other in good times and bad. Our families became part of their families and their families became part of ours. If you ever met Alex and Kitty you knew you had good friends for life. Alex loved to barbecue and he would invite all the neighbors to come over on the weekends. We would share a meal and play games and enjoy our time together. It was a block party every weekend.
As our children grew older the time came for Alex and Kitty to move to their place in Odem, Texas. This is where Alex began to build their future dream home. Our good friends seemed so far away. But we managed to travel to their place numerous times as we continued to build beautiful memories. They would visit Houston and Dickinson and made sure to connect with us if possible.
Alex was a good man, honest, kind hearted, gentle, fun, he was also compassionate and a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved life and he lived it to the fullest. Some may have called him a workaholic and maybe he was.
He was one that didn´t quit till the job was done. So on January 6 God said: "my good and faithful servant your job on earth is done" and He gently took him in His arms to a Mansion specially prepared for him in Heaven.
Alex you were the leader of your family, your wife, your daughters, your brothers,
your sisters, your nieces and nephews and many others you never knew. They all looked up to you and respected you.
May God give comfort and peace to each and every one of you knowing that one day we will see him again.
Since God is perfect in all He does , I am sure there arevnot many things that need fixing in Heaven. But I am pretty sure Alex will find something to do.
Love to all the Galvan Families.
