Aletha Mae Roberts was born February 7, 1956, in Riceboro, Georgia to the late James and Eva Mae Bennett. She attended R. L. Brown Elementary School and graduated from Jean Ribault High School in 1974. She continued her education at Florida Junior College at Jacksonville, where she received her Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic certification in 1980.
In 1976, her compassionate and caring nature coupled with her medical skills led to the start of her career at University Medical Center, where she worked in the emergency department for twenty years. As her career expanded, she was employed by Oceanway Medical Center in 1996 where she would remain until she transitioned to teaching at Sanford Brown in 2004. After eleven years, she later taught at Florida Career College until her retirement. In recent years, Aletha rejoined the workforce and worked as a chiropractor assistant for Theramed Medical Clinics.
Aletha had a wonderful passion for music. She was a skillful keyboard player and had a beautiful gift for singing. She sang with several groups throughout the years including the H. Alvin Green Alumni Memorial Chorale of Edward Waters University, under the direction of the late Patrica Ann Black.
Aletha accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and continued her walk of faith under the leadership of Pastor Kelvin Lewis, Pastor J. Marcellas Williams and most recently, Bishop Nathaniel Parrish. During her time at Life Church International (LCI), she was ordained as an Elder.
It was a natural gift for Aletha to be a nurturing caregiver. She was always willing to provide support and comfort to anyone in need. Her kindness, loyalty and compassion will always be remembered. This legacy will live on through the many people she impacted over the years.
Aletha is survived by loving and devoted brothers and sisters-in-law, Roosevelt Bennett (Helen), and John Bennett (Brenda); sister, Anne Harris (James); nephews, Roosevelt Bennett, Jr. (Nancy), Derek Holmes, Johnny Dixon, Jr., and Leroy Banks, Jr.; nieces, Anquernette Bennett, Lavater Dunlap-Fox, Shauntel Robinson (Johnny), and Shekia Brown (Norman); devoted friends, Betty Pinkney and Thomas Jones; and a host of godchildren, cousins, great nieces and nephews, and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Virginia Banks. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.

My deepest sympathy for the family. Letha and I grew up together attending schools together. It's been more than 50 yrs since we first met and became friends.

I know there is no words that will replace the emptiness felt nor the heartaches due to the loss of someone who was dear and loved

We can take comfort from the wonderful memories during this heartbreaking time and have peace knowing God´s timing is not ours and he knows what´s best
