It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Alex Crayton Jr., also known affectionately as "Baby Bro" and "Cool", who left us on September 17th, 2024. Born in Leary, Georgia on December 12th, 1961, Alex spent his younger years in his hometown before making his home in Austin, Texas. Alex was a supportive and reliable individual whose charisma made him a joy to be around. He was compassionate, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Alex found joy in simple pleasures; he loved watching sports, playing basketball, and was an ardent fan of the Oakland Raiders. He was dedicated to his work, serving as a reliable employee at UPS for 25 years. Alex was a man who placed great importance on family and friendship, which was evident in his relationships with his dear ones. He is survived by his son, Deandre Crayton, his sister, Carol Crayton, his nephew, Lerron Lee, and his great-niece, Jordyn Lee. Alex was preceded in death by his parents, Alex Sr. and Virginia Crayton.
A public visitation will be held in his honor on Friday, October 11th, 2024 at 3:00pm MDT at King-Tears Mortuary, 1300 East 12th Street, Austin, Texas, 78702. The funeral service will take place at the same venue on Saturday, October 12th, 2024 at 9:00am MDT. As we remember Alex, let us draw comfort from the words of the Bible, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4)
We invite all who knew and loved Alex to leave memories and upload photos to his memorial page. Your tributes will serve as a testament to the remarkable life that Alex lived and the love he shared with us all.

Alex who I met at Albany State University our freshman year in 1979. We were both small town young men. We quickly became great friends and enjoyed our time together. We went to the parties, the games but most importantly we went to class and we stayed the course. Kool is my guy. He was so Kool that most of us on campus called him Kool Kool. Lastly, He was right by my side when I first saw my wife in the circle on Albany State and helped me catch her attention. This really hurts.

I was so saddened to hear of your passing. Alex and I were both 1979 graduates of Calhoun County High School in Edison, Georgia. We all had a bond like no other . He was the life of the group. He kept us laughing all day every day. I never seen him without a smile on his face. After graduation we all went our separate ways, Two years ago, we all got together for our 40th class reunion, one would have thought we were still in high school. Alex was still the same person. I have so many fond memories of Crayton. He will certainly be missed from the class of 1979. To Carol, I am so sorry for your loss, please accept my condolences
