Alex R. Hernandez Jr.

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Alex R. Hernandez Jr., who departed this life peacefully on September 14, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on January 20, 1953, Alex was a resident of Pearsall, Texas, where he dedicated his life to his family and community.

Alex is survived by his devoted wife, Selma Hernandez ; Children, Teresa H leal (Jose), Joe Alex Hernandez (Helen), James M. Hernandez, Jennifer M. Hernandez, Alex Hernandez III, Terry Mata, Maria Elisa Mata, and Timothy Mata; mother, Manuela R. Preciado; Brother, Hector Salazar; Sister, Rosalinda Rodriguez; Alex is also survived by 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren

Alex is preceded in death by his father, Alex P. Hernandez Sr.; Daughter, Josephine Hernandez; Brother, Gilbert Gonzales; and granddaughter Amber Ciara Leal

Funeral services will be held to honor Alex's life and legacy. A family viewing will take place on September 18, 2025, from 5 P.M. to 9P.M. with a rosary at 7 P.M. at Primrose Funeral Services in Pearsall, Texas, providing an opportunity for family and close friends to pay their respects. Following this, a Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pearsall, Texas, on September 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM. A burial will follow at Pearsall Cemetery.
