Alexander J. Vitale, Jr. of Hawthorne, NY passed away November 28th, 2025 at the age of 65 at the Westchester Medical Center. He was born July 18th, 1960 in Mt. Kisco, NY to Alex J. Vitale, Sr. and Lillian (Spruck) Vitale.
Alex graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, NY. He attended the plumbing trade school and pursued a career as a plumber. He was also a member of the plumbers union.
He was married to Susan (Jones) Vitale with whom he had one son, Alexander (Ali).
He inspired young athletes as a baseball coach for his son's team. His passion for sports led him to his personal pursuits of golf, baseball, football, and fishing. He found satisfaction in nurturing life through gardening and sharing warmth through cooking. He was a very talented writer as well. He taught himself the beauty of music by teaching himself how to play the harmonica and shared his joyful spirit with everyone through karaoke that he often did with his family and friends. His sense of humor and quick wit was entertaining to all. He was always willing to help others and truly cared about them. He lived for and adored his son who predeceased him.
He adored all the dogs he had throughout his life and treated them like family.
He is survived by his mother, Lillian Vitale, his sisters, Susan Dister, Linda Cooper, Marie Vitale and Theresa Vitale. He also is survived by his nieces and nephews; Edward Cooper Ill, Michael Distler, Rachel Distler, Julie Distler, Melissa Distler and Eddie Cooper IV, many cousins, and Susan (Jones) Vitale. He is predeceased by his father, Alexander J. Vitale Sr. and his son, Alexander W. Vitale (Ali).
