Alexander Raymond Ashy II

Oakdale-A memorial service celebrating the life of Alexander Raymond Ashy II, 75, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home. All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Alexander Raymond Ashy II passed away in Alexandria, Louisiana on April 23, 2022. Alex was born in Oakdale, Louisiana on August 16, 1946, to Alexander Raymond Ashy and Myrtis Sexton Ashy. He attended and graduated from Opelousas Catholic School and then continued his education at Tulane University in New Orleans where he earned bachelor's and law degrees.
Alex married Isabel Parks in 1971 and their son, Brett Alexander Ashy, was born on May 24, 1976. Through the years, Alex became an avid stamp collector in his spare time. As a native Louisianian, he was, naturally, a devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints. In his later life, Alex cherished the time he spent with his adored grandchildren.
Alex was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Melinda Ashy Davis.
He is survived by his son Brett and wife Catherine, and their children Brett Alexander Ashy Jr. and Susanna McKinnon Ashy; sister Sally Ashy Stephens and husband Bradford, and nephews Bradford Stephens, his wife Andrea, and their children Abigail, Bradford, and Henry; and Brandon Stephens and his wife Suzi; nephew Jeff Davis and son Austin; and niece Megan Keith and husband Tim, and their children Mason and Davis; and niece Courtney Davis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Oakdale Dog Shelter or Children's Hospital of Mississippi (2500 N State Street Jackson, MS 39216) in Alexander's memory.
