Thérèse Ashy

Thérèse Ashy née Bandar beloved wife of the late Fahmy Ashy born in Haifa, Palestine, passed away peacefully in Potomac, MD on September 21, 2023. A wonderful mother, lifelong learner, admired for her resilience, wisdom, competitive spirit, and talent in languages and poetry. She is survived by her sisters Evelyne (Edward d.) Samaha, Nadia (Raif d.) Zahr; her brothers, Raymond (Anthana), Simon (Marie) and John (Donna) Bandar. Survived by her sisters-in-law, Jamal (Mansour d.), Suheila (Edmond d.) and Jeanette (Edward d.) Bandar. Survived by her children, Oussama (Connie) and Fadi (Laudy) Ashy, Lina (Albert) Kassis and Ghada (James) Young. Survived by her grandchildren, Patrick, Joseph, Nicholas, Alexander, Ryan, Christopher, Aiden, Kayla, Patrick, Connor, Elena and Meryl and one great-granddaughter Ruby. Relatives and friends will be received at PUMPHREY'S COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Montgomery Avenue, Rockville, MD on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. and at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 9200 Kentsdale Drive, Potomac, MD on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
