Alexander (Alex) Bahe, 40 passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 19th, 2024, at the University of Utah Hospital.
Alex was born into this world on October 17, 1983, to Ernest and Pauline Bahe on the Navajo reservation. Alex attended elementary and junior high in Davis County and graduated from Tooele High School. After graduation Alex moved to Phoenix to attend culinary school.
When Alex returned from Phoenix, he volunteered at the Salt Lake City downtown library and at the Sundance Film Festival for 10 years. Alex worked at Protect Computer Products for 21 years, where he made great friends who will miss him as much as his family does.
Alex will be lovingly remembered by his partner Daniel Moon, his parents Ernest and Pauline Bahe, his sisters Cassandra Renshaw and Candice Bahe, his nieces, Mercedes Renshaw, Arianna Renshaw, Kiana Renshaw, and nephew Ian Stowell and his cousins Sandra Burke, Mathilda Burke, and Valeena Harvey that were more like siblings.
Alex is preceded in death by his grandparents Bahe and Vera Chee, and Guy and Elizabeth Bahe. His aunts Irene Burke and Arlene Chee and uncles Arnold Bahe, and Guy Bahe Jr.
Alex had a passion for life, food, movies, music, reading, and travel. His favorite foods included ham fried rice, salmon, and pizza. He loved all things Anthony Bourdain and genuinely loved cooking for his family. His home-made tortillas and fry bread were unbeatable. Alex's favorite movie genres were Marvel Universe, horror and independent films. Alex's music choices ranged from Pink Floyd to The Shins. Authors that Alex enjoyed reading were Chuck Palahniuk, Chuck Klosterman, and Marvel comics. Alex loved gifting books to his family and friends and sharing his latest book choice with everyone. Alex traveled often to visit cousins in Arizona and loved to camp whenever he could.
The best thing about Alex is that he was always open to try anything new. He was open to change and accepting of everyone. He had a dry sarcastic sense of humor, and he was always laughing. Alex will be missed at all times of the day because he is so intertwined in memories of everyday life that we cannot see, hear, smell, or touch anything, that does not bring up a memory of him.
A viewing and Celebration of Life is planned for Friday September 27th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111. Please wear your favorite superhero shirt in honor of Alex. In lieu of flowers, please send funeral donations to The Bahe Family.
