Alexander DeGidio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. - Mill Street on Mar. 10, 2026.
Alexander J. DeGidio, 73, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away the morning of March 6, 2026 at his residence surrounded by and in the loving arms of his daughters, Alexis and Kristen DeGidio.

Born in New Castle on October 25, 1952, Alex was the son of the late Norman DeGidio, Sr. and Alda Ticcone DeGidio.

Alex was a graduate of New Castle High School and was a Proud Patriot and a member of the United States Marine Corp. Reserves.

In the early years Alex worked as a truck driver for Schneider Trucking Company. He was an accomplished salesman for G.O. Crivelli and also in insurance sales for John Hancock & Mutual of Omah. Alex then started DeGidio Insurance & Abstract Company. When he decided to partially retire, Alex settled in Myrtle Beach, SC. Never wanting to truly retire, Alex went back to driving truck across country

Being known as a "Jack of All Trades", Alex's hobbies included contracting, dancing, music, watching war movies and the Ladies.

At the end of his days, Alex chose to take one last ride home with his daughter, Alexis, who helped give him peace and deliver him back to God.

Alex is survived by his five daughters, Jaime DeGidio, Kristen DeGidio (Jeff Scrim), Alexis DeGidio (C.J. Landolfi), Megan Flickner (Bob) and Dena DeGidio, his brother, Norman DeGidio, Jr. and seven grandchildren.

Family and Friends will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 16th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Aaron Kriss will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
