Alexander Jeffrey Hipple, 18, of Mooresville, North Carolina tragically lost his life on November 4, 2023.

Alex was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on August 3, 2005. He was a Class of 2023 graduate from the Community School of Davidson. He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Tracy Hipple (Thiet), and his younger sisters, Katelyn and Jaclyn. He is also survived by his grandparents, Leroy and Carolyn Hipple and Walter and Mary Ann Thiet. He was fortunate to have been surrounded by many loving family members throughout his life.

Alex was a sweet young man who touched the lives of many during his short time with us. Alex had such a big heart and endless empathy for others and animals. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

Alex had so much to offer this world – he was intelligent, athletic, artistic, and was devoted to his friends. He was goofy, silly, and always smiling. If you were having a bad day, he would be there for you. Alex was resilient - he never let things keep him down and he bounced back quickly from any challenge. He was always out making memories and living in the moment.

Alex was a talented athlete and excelled in swimming. His mom was his biggest supporter and was proud of his accomplishments. He enjoyed fly fishing in the mountains and sport fishing in the ocean with his dad. He also loved sports cars and driving for miles on end.

He was always on the go and loved spending time with his friends. Alex loved gaming and playing the Wii with his sisters. He often affectionately teased his sister Jaclyn, and he liked stealing her parrot to show his friends.

Alex’s friends and family have many fond memories of boating with him on Lake Norman. He enjoyed kayaking and paddle-boarding with his friends and sister Katelyn. He liked traveling to new places and chasing the sunset. Alex loved the ocean, snorkeling, and riding the waves.

Most recently, Alex was working full-time at McDonald’s taking a gap year before starting college. There he was a hard worker who always jumped in to help.

Alex was always his authentic self. Alex was unforgettable. Wherever he went, he left an impression. He will forever be missed by many.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM ET on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home (16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078).
