Alexander Rozos Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Groce Funeral Home & Cremation Services- Lake Julian on Aug. 1, 2024.
Asheville- On the morning of Thursday, July 18, 2024, Alexander (Alex) Rozos, of Asheville, North Carolina, was killed in a hit and run collision while biking to the climbing gym. Alex was 26 years old.
Alex was born in Burlington, Vermont on January 10, 1998, to Michael Rozos and Andrea Roubal. He moved to Greenville, South Carolina where he spent most of his adolescent life as a standout athlete. Alex loved playing hockey and did so since he was five years old. He played for a travel team Charlotte Checkers for years, then for Charlotte Rush – a Junior League Hockey Team, before leaving to study at and play hockey for The Citadel (Military College of Charleston) South Carolina.
After finding a second home in Asheville, North Carolina, Alex worked as a certified personal trainer and received much praise for his devotion to his clients, and knowledge of his craft. Besides training, Alex was an avid climber, constantly pushing himself to learn yet another new sport. Alex's true passion was displayed in his desire to help his peers in the recovery and mental well-being spheres.
Alex was proudly sober for over 4 years, a fact he would share with anyone. It was this dedication to his own sobriety that led him to help as many other people as he could with their struggles. To that end, he often volunteered his time and visited with friends at the Oasis Recovery Center and the Asheville Recovery Center. Alex said that he truly found his purpose in working to help other people. During this time Alex had reached grounding faith and sustaining personal relationship with God. To this end he carried his Bible everywhere even at the time of his passing while going to work out. He proudly discussed his faith and belief in God with anyone willing to listen.
Further, Alex was a burgeoning author. His first book, How To Leave An Impact On The World, Made Simple, was born of Alex's desire to help as many people as possible. After overcoming so much in his life, Alex wanted to share his book with the world and give out his prescription for life in hopes that someone else could find the joy and peace he'd discovered. In Alex's words, "Everyone deserves the opportunity to become their best!"
Alex is survived by his parents Mike Rozos and Andrea Roubal (David), his brother Evan Rozos, his grandfather Mike Rozos, Sr. (Sharon), his grandmother, Paula Murdoch, his uncles, Matt and Mark Rozos, his great-uncle Jack Rozos, and countless other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Alex on Friday, August 02, 2024 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Cultivate Climbing, 173 Amboy Road, Asheville, NC 28806 and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 03, 2024, at noon in the Greek Hall of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 227 Cumberland Ave, Asheville, NC 28801.
In lieu of flowers, Alex would want us to pay it forward and perform some type of kindness towards someone else.

I feel sadness for the family and friends of Alex. He seemed like an awesome person that was successful in turning his life around. Because of Our Lord Jesus Christ and many interactions with all he is at peace, some never find that.
Thank you for accepting my comments...
Blessings,
Jeffrey
