Alexander Skye Shepherd passed away on January 8, 2026, at Camp Pendleton, California. He was born on April 14, 2000, in Huntington, England.
Alex was the beloved son of Deanna Dukes and the late Gregory "Duane" Shepherd, and stepson of Tito Dukes. He leaves behind a son, Atticus Howard.
Alex graduated from Glen Burnie High School in Glen Burnie, Maryland, in 2018. Following graduation, Alex honorably enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in August 2018. He served his country with courage, discipline, and unwavering commitment until his passing. Alex embodied the core values of the Marine Corps- Honor, Courage, and Commitment and his service stands as a lasting testament to his character and dedication.
Alex is survived by his siblings, Khadeja Gregory, Dylan Ogletree, and Kobe Dukes; aunts, Shauna Shepherd, Deidra Casey, and Kizzy Dukes; uncle, Gerald Shepherd; paternal grandmother, Debra Shepherd; maternal grandmother, Carol Cole, along with many extended family members and friends who loved him deeply. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Paxton Shepherd.
Alex had a passion for life and enjoyed weapons training, traveling, being a food connoisseur, gaming, and working out. He will be remembered not only as a United States Marine, but as a loving father, son, brother, and friend whose legacy of service, strength, and love will live on.
Military honors will be rendered in recognition of Alexander’s faithful service to the United States.
