It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Alexandria "Alex" Whitmore, who left this world unexpectedly at her home in Bar Harbor on September 26, 2025, at the age of 35.
Born on April 12, 1990, Alex was a radiant soul whose energy, warmth, and kindness touched every life she encountered. She had a gift for making others feel seen, loved, and supported - always putting the needs and happiness of those around her before her own. Her smile could light up any room, and her spirit brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Alex devoted her time and heart to her community as a passionate cheering coach, where she inspired countless young athletes with her enthusiasm, encouragement, and unwavering belief in their potential. But above all, her greatest pride and joy were her two children. As a loving mother, she poured endless love, patience, and devotion into her family, creating a home filled with laughter, love, and memories that will last forever.
She is survived by her life partner and soulmate, Jason Alley; her beloved children, Jesse Alley and Madalyne Alley; her mother, Heidi MacGregor, and stepfather, Timothy Oakes; her father, David Whitmore, and stepmother, Kelly Whitmore; her sister, Katelyn Whitmore; her brothers, Danny MacGregor and his wife Katie, and Tyler Doane; and her adored nieces, Aleana and Wrenley MacGregor. She is also remembered with love by many extended family members and countless friends whose lives were forever changed by her presence.
Alex's legacy is one of love, compassion, and joy. She had the biggest heart and an unshakable determination to make others happy. Her light will continue to shine through the lives of her children, her family, and the many people she inspired.
A celebration of Alex's life will be held at the Elks Lodge, 317 High St, Ellsworth, ME 04609 on Sunday Oct. 19th at 1:00 pm, where all who loved her will be welcome to gather, share memories, and honor her beautiful spirit. We ask that everyone who wants to express how Alex has brought love into their lives please write it on paper to be put up for everyone to enjoy. These memories will be saved and cherished by her family. Though her time here was far too short, Alex's love will live on eternally in the hearts of all who knew her.
