In Loving Memory of Alfia C. Tait (nee DeCaro)
Alfia C. Tait (nee DeCaro), a first-generation American, was born on November 26, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Aurila and Carmalinda DeCaro. She peacefully passed away on January 17, 2024, in Moorestown, New Jersey.
Alfia was a proud graduate of South Philadelphia Girls High School in 1950. Prior to starting her family, she worked at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Alfia then devoted her time to being a loving and nurturing stay-at-home mom, and later, she seamlessly transitioned back into the workforce to work at the RCA Corporation in Moorestown, NJ, which later became General Electric.
Family was at the center of Alfia's life, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She had a passion for card club gatherings with her long-time friends, and she found joy in exploring different parts of the world through travel. Alfia's culinary skills were truly exceptional, and she delighted in preparing traditional Italian meals for her family during each holiday celebration.
Alfia shared a remarkable journey of over 65 years of marriage with her beloved husband, John (Jack) Tait, who predeceased her. She is survived by her dear sister, Mary Pignatelli, and her loving sons: John (predeceased by Donna Tait), Harry, Michael (Barbara), and David (Gina). Alfia's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Andrew, John, Allison (Robert), Nicholas, Liza Rose, and Patrick, as well as her great-grandchildren, River and Remy. She was predeceased by her siblings Ralph DeCaro, Connie Buonno, and Steven DeCaro
A gathering to celebrate Alfia's life will be held on January 26, 2024 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, with her memorial service starting at 1:00pm. The family invites friends and well-wishers to join them in honoring the memory of a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her love, warmth, culinary delights, and unwavering spirit. May she rest in eternal peace.
