He was born February 7, 1952, at Laredo, Texas, to A. C. and Olivia (Puente) Partida. He grew up in Tipton and attended Tipton schools, graduating with the Class of 1971. While in school, he played football and baseball. He received an athletic scholarship for baseball, and attended St. Gregory’s College in Shawnee. He graduated with an associate’s degree in applied science from Oscar Rose Junior College. At that time, he received his radiologic technologist license in 1974. He worked at Moore Municipal Hospital for two years. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patti (Jonnie) Newby, on June 13, 1975. They moved to Tipton for Al to help his father in the hay hauling business. He and his dad bought a service station and operated it from 1975 to 1980. From 1978 to 1991, Al worked for Halliburton Services, which moved his family to Burns Flat. In 1991, he decided to go back to his career of radiology technician at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He became the supervisor of radiology, and was a registered computerized tomography technologist (CT Technician). He retired in 2017, and in 2021, he and Jonnie moved to Enid to be near family. Al enjoyed coaching summer baseball for his son. He was an avid sports fan and loved to go the Texas Rangers, Oklahoma State and Dallas Cowboys games. He was passionate about family and treasured the one on one, when he and Austin would purchase show pigs and raise them. As time passed, he was able to enjoy his precious granddaughters. He was the proudest Papa. He had an ardent faith and was a devout catholic.
