Obituary
Alfred Adamcewicz, 79, of Old Bridge Township passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge Township.
Al was born in Bayonne and lived there for a short period of time before his family settled in the former Madison Township, now Old Bridge Township, where he was a lifelong resident. For more than 35 years, Al worked as a laboratory technician for Bristol Myers Squibb in New Brunswick, retiring in 2008. He enjoyed going fresh water fishing with his wife Karen, traveling around the United States and loved going to China Town in New York City as often as he could. He was a fan of Charlie Chan and Sherlock Holmes mysteries and old movies. He was also an avid fan of New York Yankees and a history buff. He collected Warner Brothers characters and memorabilia and looked forward to pinochle games with his family and to lunches at the former Seville Diner in East Brunswick with both family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents and, his daughter Marie Adamcewicz in 2001, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Karen Adamcewicz; his grandchildren Allison Quirke and Steven Baxter; his great-grandchildren Brianna Kovach, Benjamin Baxter and Jackson Borg; his Goddaughter Haley Kosco, and; his long-time caregiver Mercy Rose Perbi.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 17th from 10:00 AM until the start of services, at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. Committal will be at 12:30 in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Monroe Township.
The family would prefer that donations honoring Al's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of sending flowers.
