Alfred Behney, 83, of Blacksburg, SC, passed away October 29, 2024, at his home.
He was born May 29, 1941, son of the late Bertrum Behney and Aurora Raymond Strunk.
He was a native of Reading Pennsylvania and had grown up in Rhode Island. He moved to Connecticut and lived their several years before moving to Blacksburg, SC.
Alfred was an Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam Conflict.
He retired from the City of Gastonia with over 30 years of faithful service.
He enjoyed being a CB radio operator and his call name was Newport. He was a member of many CB clubs, and he had made many friends throughout the years.
A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Love Valley Baptist Church 2032 Bethlehem Road Kings Mountain, officiated by Pastor Barry Philbeck.
The family will receive friends 6-7 pm prior to the service at the church.
Alfred is survived by his son, Daniel Behney (Tracy); daughters, Debbie Sequenzia (Steven McKenna), Denelle Everett (JD); sister, Sheila Behney Allende; numerous grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Behney; son, Alfred Daniel Behney; brother, Freddie Strunk; sisters, Roselie Adams, Alice Branigan, Jeanette Mathews.
