Alfred "Fritz" Dillon, 92, of Elmira, NY, passed away on December 27, 2025, at St. Camillus Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
Alfred was born in Elmira on June 3, 1933, to Ralph and Effie Dense Dillon. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force and served in Korea. He was a truck driver for 35 years and was a starter flagman at Chemung Speedrome.
Alfred was predeceased by his sons, John and Richard Dillon; his sister, Jean Dillon; and brothers, Raymond and Ralph Dillon Jr.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara and her husband, Donald Crawford; sons, Scott and Jeffrey and his wife, Sally; brothers, William and Gerald Dillon; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and his friends at St. Camillus, Jack, Bill, Marty and Jesse.
The family would like to extend many thanks to the wonderful and caring staff and volunteers at St. Camillus, who made his stay there and his final 7 months of life much more meaningful.
Internment will be held at Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY at a later date.
