Alfred P. Gillert

Fishkill- Alfred P. Gillert a resident of Fishkill, Ny for the past 22 years, passed away on January 22, 2023, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 92 years old.
Al was born in Yonkers, NY on November 15, 1930, the son of Gustav and Jenny (Bialecki) Gillert.
Al enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean and Vietnam War Era's. After he completed active duty, he re-enlisted in the Air Reserve retiring in 1990.
On August 17, 1963, Al married the love of his life Linda Marvin at St. John's Catholic Church in White Plains, NY. She survives at home.
Al is a member of the Fishkill Baptist Church and past Board Member for Fishkill Commons.
He enjoyed traveling to the Adirondacks, reading, and listening to Christian and Country music.
In addition to his wife Linda, Al is survived by his daughters Heather Gillert and Elizabeth Hemsing and her husband Michael. Grandchildren Amanda Hemsing, Michael Hemsing and his wife Alyssa and Jennifer Hemsing and great-grandchildren Carter Hemsing and Grayson Hemsing.
Al is predeceased by his parents and brothers (Ret. Colonel) Gustav Gillert and Daniel Gillert.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 1pm, at McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, INC. 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Al's name to International Fellowship of Christians & Jews 303 East Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601.
