William A. Gloss, Jr., 80, on September 21, 2025, surrounded by family and memories he

"cashed out" leaving behind a life filled with love, laughter, and stories worth more than any jackpot. He was an area resident of Hopewell Jct., NY for 52 years.

For William, every gathering with family and friends was like hitting the jackpot, every laugh shared, a winning spin. Although his seat at the casino may now be empty, his spirit lingers in every pull of the slot machine. May we all take a page from his playbook, trust the odds, laugh loud, love deep, and never be afraid to go all in, and play the max bet.

Born on May 29, 1945, in Queens, New York, William was the son of Helen Zicca and William A. Gloss, Sr. He served in the United States Air Force from 1965-1969 in Vietnam. He spent his career working for the telephone company until his retirement. He enjoyed going to the casino, doing puzzles, and surprising his family with food, visits, and car rides with his dog, Emma. He enjoyed watching the Mets and Buffalo Bills.

In 1970, he married Dolores A. Russer, who predeceased him in 2020. Survivors include their three daughters: Donna Adams (Charles), Debra Jackson (Delmar), Janice (Eugene) Peterson

(Eugene), Grandchildren Kara and Troy Adams, Mark and Courtney Jackson, Logan, Alexander and Isaac Peterson. He is also survived by his brothers Paul and Brian and a sister Sandra, as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, lifelong friends and his beloved dog Emma.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties for their friendship and support. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of William can be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stonybrook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550, or Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1400 NY-52, Fishkill, New York 12524.

Visitation will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Saturday, September 27th from 5 - 8 pm with a memorial service beginning at 7:15 pm.
