I worked at Spring Hill Golf Course in 2020. I saw many people every day, but I will never forget Hamp. If I was having a bad day, he´d walk in the pro-shop and show me a magic trick or talk about his love for art and golf. Hamp always made sure I had something to eat and drink. If I didn´t, he´d go buy me a hamburger and a drink in the grill. He was sweetest man and so giving. I will always miss seeing him around the course asking me if I have painted anything recently. I might have seen many people at the course, but I will always remember Hamp.

Hamp, it was always fun playing golf with you at Gulf Pines. You were always in such a great mood every day and would always make every day better. You will be missed.

I first met Hamp at Gulf Pines golf course over 30 years ago. He was simply one of the friendliest, nicest, sincere and finest gentlemen I have ever known. Generous with his time, golf skills and advice, Hamp would literally give you the shirt off his back. Like Gabe said, "Fly High, Hamp". Enjoy your birdies in Heaven.

At the very least, Hamp was a great man. He was talented, funny, caring, a man of his word, very insightful & keen. He wouldn´t put up with any nonsense and would you set you straight in a minute. My name is Gabe Shinn; I befriended him 7 years ago at SHC golf course. I´m the assistant pro there and I teach golf lessons. In those years, Hamp and I played some holes, I helped him with his swing and we were able to have lunch together some and we talked about whatever "tickled" him that day. He was a giver, but never expected anything in return and with that, he taught me a lot about friendship and accountability. He will surely be missed by everyone at SHC golf course. He had a bunch of us friends up there and we will miss his company out on the range. This is a painting he did of me a couple years back that used to hang up in the Pro - Shop. He told me that I better take it home one day, so I did. We are hanging it up tonight at my house in honor of Hamp, Fly high man, you will missed but never be forgotten. - Gabe
