Carl Dowdy, age 93, resident of Mobile, AL. Was born on August 13th,1931 and passed away on July 8th, 2025. Carl graduated from Murphy High School here in Mobile. He also continued is education at Northwest Florida State Collage. He began his career in the Air Force and served for 24 years. During his time in the Armed Forces, he was stationed in Germany where he met his wife Hanna, and they started a family.
While in the Air Force he traveled the world from places in Asia, Europe, South American and the US. He also served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam.
Carl was an avid golfer, loved sailing, loyal and longtime New Orleans Saint fan and enjoyed watching boxing TV, tennis, baseball and other sports.
He is survived by his daughters Carrol Hamilton, Trish Dowdy and Karen Dowdy and many Friends.
Funeral service will be held on July 18th, 2025, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. 6040 Three Notch Rd, Mobile. Visitation from 11am - 12pm burial will follow at gravesite after.
