Alfred Jackson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Center of Birmingham - Vestavia Hills from Feb. 4 to Feb. 5, 2026.
Alfred "Gene" Jackson, age 68, a lifelong resident of Rock Creek, Alabama, was born on July
15, 1957, in Birmingham, Alabama. He passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, at UAB
Medical West Hospital.
Gene was a dedicated, hardworking man and a devoted father and Pawpaw. He proudly served
the City of Hueytown for 15 years before retiring in 2023. He found great joy in riding horses,
riding his motorcycle, and being a member of the Iron Angels Motorcycle Club. Gene also
enjoyed spending time outdoors tinkering with projects, gardening during the summer months,
and riding his boat. A true sports enthusiast, he loved watching football and was a proud Auburn
fan.
Above all, Gene was a family man who cherished time spent at family gatherings. He had a gift
for conversation and never met a stranger, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went.
While his loss is deeply felt on earth, it is certain he has already made new friends in heaven.
Gene will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mildred Jackson; his brother, Golden
Jackson; and his sister, Frances Elliott.
He is survived by his daughter, Rachel Jackson (Josh Wallace); his son, Nicholas Jackson
(Michelle); his grandchildren, Devin Schrader, Aiden Black, Ethan Pennington, and Raelynn
Wallace; his brother, Wayne Jackson; his sisters, Mary Lucas (Earl) and Joyce Colburn (Ray);
along with a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 14, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Sylvan Springs
Community Center, located at 130 Rock Creek Road, Mulga, Alabama 35118.
